MN 55554 <br />March 22, 1996 <br />Ms. Jeanne Mabusth <br />Planning and Zoning Administrator <br />City of Orono <br />2750 Kelley Parkway <br />Long Lake, MN 55356 <br />Re: Orono Ice Arena <br />Dear Jeanne: <br />Orono Hockey Boosters, Inc. is today submitting <br />its application for a conditional use permit for its indoor <br />ice arena project north of Orono High School. <br />In this letter, we want to cover several topics <br />that aie associated with that application and that are not <br />otherwise addressed in the application materials. <br />Project status Update <br />For purposes of our overall project schedule, we <br />are aiming at a construction start on May 1, and a project <br />substantial completion on October 1, 1996. <br />We understand that those dates depend on our <br />meeting the City's standards for approval of our conditional <br />use permit by the Planning Commission on April 16, and by <br />the City Council on April 22, and also depend on our having <br />figured out with the City what the timing can be for <br />issuance of a building permit. <br />Achieving that schedule also requires that all our <br />project pricing and our fundraising arrangements be <br />completed by the second week of April, and at this point we <br />remain on track to accomplish that. <br />Currently, we have raised $1,625,000 in cash and <br />hard pledges against a projected total cost to open the <br />project (with some interior improvements still to be <br />completed) of $2,150,000. <br />Mark Engebretson President 475-3460 <br />i
