• The concept of using an overlay district to identify distticts of varying degrees of tree <br />preservation requirements should be considered. <br />• The ordinance is not meant to curb development, but radier obtain better development in <br />character with the city. <br />• The goal of tree preservation could be added to the subdivision ordinance. <br />. Woodlands vs individual trees should be protected in some cases, but this has yet to be <br />defined further. <br />While there was some general agre>;rment, as you well know, there are many specifics of the tree <br />preservation ordinance that need to be addressed. Hopefully this has helped focus in on areas of <br />agreement and disagreement as they relate to the creation of Orono's tree preservation ordinance.
