Tha calling will remain lath and plaster <br />on the sacond floor. Lath and plaster exists behind <br />the wainscoting on tha sacond floor. Separation from <br />tha first floor will be provided by 5/8" Type X gypsum <br />board on tha first fl's^r ceilings (except tha antry <br />hall which Is 1” nominal wood) and by existing panel <br />doors in tha antry hall. <br />You will be racalvlng shortly a latter from tha owners, <br />tha Minnetonka Canter for Arts and Education, indicating <br />their proposed usage of Itha building. Based on this letter, <br />I am also asking your a^roval for designation of the sacond <br />floor as a classroom use. This yields an occupant load of <br />approximately 95 for th^s floor. <br />In order to further verify tha situation, 7 would like <br />you to comment. Where y<^ feel it is necessary, on tha follow. <br />Ing points, which reflect my understanding of the code and <br />your interpretation of its <br />1. Basement ceilings will not be sheet.rocked, with <br />the exception of the boiler room which will receive <br />5/8" Type X. <br />Basement stairs in the S.E. corner of the building <br />satisfy requirements as they exist. <br />NO further blocking or bridging is required. <br />Panic hardware is not required in the building. <br />Closers are not required. Locking devices will <br />be easily openable from the inside without a key. <br />Ventilation in the bathrooms by windows only. <br />A balustrade of approxit»ately 24" height over the <br />entry porch is acceptable if the door to the entry <br />porch roof is ported "No Exit". <br />Existing fire escape and exit situation are acceptable. <br />Unilluminated exit signs are required. <br />Sprinklers are not required. . <br />.^aijes C.
