MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO CITY COUNCIL <br />MEETING HELD ON NOVEMBER 12, 1996 <br />PARK COMMISSION COMMENTS <br />Commissioner Wilson stated the Park Commission is in the process of reviewing the park <br />im'entory for final review as well as working with the Antoine Park neighbors to <br />determine the needs of the park The building on the property and play ground <br />equipment needs are being evaluated Wilson reported that ice rinks will be maintained at <br />Casco Point, Hackberry , and Bederwood Parks The golf course club house w ill also be <br />open for activities on Saturday and Sunday afternoons <br />Callahan congratulated Wilson on her appointment as Vice Chair of the Park <br />Commission. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS <br />Janice Berg was present, along with Dale Lindquist Berg had no comments to make at <br />this time <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />There were no public comments. <br />ZONING ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT <br />(*#4) #2136 GREENFIELD CORPORATION, 180 NORTH SHORE DRIVE <br />WEST - FINAL SUBDIVISION - RESOLUTION #3798 <br />It was noted that while this resolution was on the C'onsent Agenda, Goetten had <br />previously voted for denial of this resolution <br />Jabbour moved, Goetten seconded, to adopt Resolution #3798. Vote: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br />(#5) #2176 DANIEL S. PERKINS, 55 LANDMARK DRIVE - RENEWAL OF <br />ANNUAL CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT - RESOLUTION #3799 <br />The applicant was present. <br />Mabusth stated that a conditional use permit was granted during the 1994-95 winter <br />season for the excavation of 200 cubic yards of material Applicant had originally <br />presented a plan that called for the removal of a total of 2,000 cubic yards of peat over a <br />ten year period At the time the CUP was granted, the Council did not approve the <br />permit for a ten year period but recommended annual reviews The applicant was <br />allowed to pay a renwal fee for the reviews rather than what is normally charged for a <br />conditional use permit Dredging did not take place in 1995-96 season as the need for <br />the peat ma'. rial was limited The contractor advised that he would only need 200 cubic <br />yards of peai every two years.
