HER ISSUES FOR DISCUSSION <br />McMillan reported that ihe October 14 Council meeting was historic with its unanimous <br />approval of the Alternative 6 proposal by MaDOT This proposal places the new Hw> 12 <br />on the north side of the railroad tracks with major etfect on the Orono Oaks <br />neighborhood, east of Orono. and Silver Meadow by Old Crystal Bay Road McMillan <br />said the railroad would benefit from the elimination of three at-grade crossings and two <br />railroad trestles at Orono Orchard and May Street Final approvals are to be made in <br />November. <br />(#15) PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE <br />SEPTEMBER 16, 1996 MEETING <br />5;hroeder moved, McMillan seconded, to approve the Minutes ot the Planning <br />Commission Meeting of September 16, 1996 Vote Ayes 6, Nays 0. <br />(#16) PLANNING COMMISION TO SELECT REPRESENTATIVES TO <br />ATTEND THE COUNCIL MEETINGS OF OCTOBER 28, 1996 AND <br />NOVEMBER 12, 1996 <br />Mabu. oted that the ice arena issue will be discussed at the upcoming October 28, <br />1996 C icil meeting if the MUSA application is approved on October 24 <br />Hawn will attend the October 28 meeting of the Council Berg will attend the November <br />12 meeting of the Council <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Schroeder moved, Stoddard seconded, to adjourn at 10:28 p m Vote; Ayes 6, Nays 0. <br />Charles Schroeder, Acting Chair Person
