*■ <br />\ <br />C • <br />TAX FORFEITED LAND RELEASED FOR PRIVATE <br />SALE TO ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNERS, <br />LOT 4, BLOCK 1, SAGA HILL REVISED <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono is a municipal corporation organized and existing <br />under the laws of the State of Minnesota; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 282, the City has received from <br />Hennepin County a listing of a land within the City which has become the property of the State of <br />Minnesota ♦or non-payment of the installment payments on a purchase contract entered into as of <br />April 21, 1987 and for non-payment of delinquent real estate taxes; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed said la*^**' compliance with local <br />zoning ordinances, for the amount of outstanding special assessmem. /ct. .aining unpaid to the City, <br />and/or for the public use by the City as authorized by the statutes. In addition the Council has <br />reviewed said lands and pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 85.021; 92.461, Subd. 8; 282.018, Subd. 1 <br />or 282.018, Subd. 2 makes the following findings: <br />1.The property as lakeshore property located at 1290 Spruce Place was released by the <br />Department of Natural Resources for sale in a letter dated September 3, 1996. <br />2. The parcel does not meet applicable zoning standards and is an unbuildable lot. <br />3. <br />4. <br />5. <br />Adjacent land owners ha\ e indicated an interest in purchasing this property. <br />There is an outstanding special assessment on this property of $2,955.66. <br />The City has incurred expenses amounting to $2,220.50 in 1986 for the demolition of a <br />former residence a.nd has yet to recoup these costs. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of <br />Orono, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 282 hereby approves the classification of the property as non ­ <br />conservation land, and furthermore approves the public sale of said parcel of land as listed below to <br />adjaceiii property owners. The property is unbuildable and may be usable only in combination with <br />other adjoining parcels. <br />Page 1 of 2
