A RESOLUTION ORDERING PREPARATION OF A FEASIBILITY REPORT <br />FOR THE INSTALLATION OF MUNICIPAL SE\\T:R TO SERVE THE <br />NORTH LONG LAKE AND LONG LAKE COUNTRY CLUB ADDITION AREAS <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono has identified certain neighborhoods where the installation <br />of sanitary sewer appears to be preferable to long term use of on-site sewage treatment systems; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has made application to the Metropolitan Council for an <br />amendment of the Metropolitan Urban Service Area boundary to include these identified neighborhoods; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Metropolitan Council approval of said MUSA amendment is anticipated <br />within the near future; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that North Long Lake and Long Lake <br />Country Club Addition are the highest priority neighborhoods for construction of sanitary sewer; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Engineer has provided preliminary cost estimates for construction <br />of sanitary sewer for these two neighborhoods, however, additional information is needed in order to <br />establish the feasibility of such a project; and <br />WHEREAS, it is proposed to construct municipal sewer trunks and laterals to serve the <br />North Long Lake and Long Lake Country Club Addition neighborhoods and to assess the benefitted <br />property for all or a portion of the cost of the improvements, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Chapter <br />429. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of Orono, Minnesota, <br />that the proposed improvements be referred to the City Engineer for study and that he is instructed to <br />report to the Counci . ith all convenient speed advising the Council in a preliminary way as to whether <br />the proposed improvement is necessary, cost effective, and feasible and as to whether it should best be <br />made as proposed or in connection with some other improvement, and the estimated cost of the <br />improvement as recommended. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono this 9th day of September, 1996. <br />ATTEST:Edward J.
