Minnesota 55364 <br />Re: Deck Construction <br />Dear Mr. Karkela: <br />On December 15, 1993 this office notified you of the requirement for a buildiiig permit for a deck <br />you were constructing on your property. On December 20, 1?93 you submitted an after the fact <br />permit application. A review was completed and the proposed deck addition was found to be <br />encroaching the average lakcshore setback. A letter was -ent to you on March 1, 1994 notifying you <br />of this problem. Work on the deck was halted and it remained unfinished until recently when it was <br />completed. Enclosed is Citation #3960486011 citing you for working without a permit. <br />The City must now require you to remove the deck or if you feel you have a hardship, apply for an <br />after the fact variance to see if the City Council could allow it to remain. A deadiine of March 11, <br />1995 has been established for removal or application submittal. If tliis deadline is not met, the Cits <br />will forward the matter to the City Attorney for further legal action.
