Proposed Dock Revisions <br />Dear Mr. Scholle: <br />Thank you for your call last Tuesday requesting infomvation on construction of an additional dock <br />at the west end of the Big Island, Inc. property. <br />City of Orono Resolution No. 3006 granted a conditional use permit (CUP) for this Day Use <br />Recreation Area in 1991. Condition #1 of this resolution limits the site to 15 slips, and any increase <br />will require that a new conditional use permit be applied for. If your plan is to eliminate as many <br />existing slips as you create and remain at 15 total, no new CUP would be required. A CUP <br />application is attached should you need to use it. <br />Whether or not you need to file a new CUP, you will need to amend your 1996 Orono Joint Use <br />Dock License. That form is also attached. <br />It's important that you contact the Lake Minnetonka Conservation District (LMCD) because they will <br />likely also require a revision of their license. I will rely on their interpretation of whether you are <br />creating an additional slip or just relocating an existing one.
