The memo recommends a pedestrian access be provided to the Lowry Woods Nature <br />Area at a location with the least impact on adjacent properties. The Park Commission has <br />recommended that easements be acquired to provide for pedestrian access at this location. A <br />map showing the approximate location of the access easements is attached. <br />Staff recommends a 20 foot w ide easement beginning at the edge of the County Road 84 right- <br />of-way then running through the triangular parcel and into the Lowry Woods property. This will <br />require easements from two property owners. The total area of the easements required would <br />be a maximum of 3,000 square feet. The cost of the easements should be somewhere between <br />$1.00 per square foot and $2.00 per square foot. Staff requests authorization to approach the <br />affected property owners to negotiate the purchase of the easements at a cost not to exceed <br />$6,000. The easements will be brought to the Council for final approval. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to authorize staff to negotiate the purchase of access easements to the Lowry Woods <br />Nature Area at a cost not to exceed $6,000. <br />1
