NORTH SHORE MARINA
471-2628
March 10, 1996
Mike Gaffron
City of Orono
Mar I 4 X996
Dear Mike;
1 apologize for my delinquency in getting the information together for application of a
conditional use permit. As you may or may not know, 1 have some other investors in the
Marina and 1 have not been successftil in selling them on the idea of the conditional use.
Unfortunately, one of them is out of town until the middle of April; but I think maybe the
best w ay for me to proceed with them is to schedule a meeting with all of us this time so
you can shed some light on why we need to change the way we are doing business.
If I remember correctlv, one of your main concerns was to be able to tie the conditional
permits into landscaping We are in total agreement that landscaping to create a buffer
zone between the marina and the neighbors is a common goal In our case, 1 believe the
argument could be made the other way; buffer the marina from the neighbors. I am
comfortable in locking up some kind of landscaping agreement with you as we have
discussed.
In closing, I believe that you have been most forthright in our discussions and it has been a
great help to get your input and goals on cleaning things up here at North Shore. Again, I
appreciate youi patience and would look forward to meeting with you in April sometime
to get this matter behind us.
Sincerelv
/ Rich Anderson
president North Shore Marina
