Long Lake and Medina have a joint agreement for sharing capacity in a <br />sewer trunk system which runs through Long Lake to the Metro lift station in Long Lake. <br />Although the current level of development is not at a level that should cause capacity problems <br />in the sewer trunk system. Long Lake has experienced capacity problems in the system at <br />various times. To investigate these capacity problems, and to determine capacity for fumre <br />development, the cities of Long Lake and Orono are initiating a joint sewer metering project to <br />obtain accurate and up-to-date information on the capacity of the sewer trunk system. The <br />estimated cost to the City of Orono for this project is $5,700. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to approve the expenditure of $5,700 for the Orono/Long Lake sewer trunk metering <br />project and to amend the sewer operating fund budget to include this expenditure.
