The <br />applicant proposes an addition to the west side of the residence and the creation of a walkout <br />to the lakeside of the residence. Some 500-600 cubic yards ot fill will be placed within the <br />rear yard. Total land alterations involve approximately 1,000 cubic yards of earth movement. <br />•\ major swale will be installed along the west side ot the residence, review Exhibit I.r <br />No variances are required for the new construction. The majority of drainage from the property <br />drains to the west to the Bederwood watershed. Approximately one acre of surtace runoff will <br />now be directed to Bayside Road. Prior to the City issuing a land alteration permit, the <br />applicant must arrange for a meeting with the Hennepin County Department of Transp'^rtation <br />and the Orono staff to review what changes, if any, will be necessary within the County right- <br />of-wav to treat and maintain additional runott. <br />Planning Commission Recommendation <br />The Planning Commission recommended unanimous approval of the conditional use permit lor <br />John Walstedt that would allow the OUing of approximately 600 cubic yards of fill resulting <br />from the new construction to be placed within the north or rear yard of the property located <br />at 3470 Bayside Road, subject to the following conditions: <br />1.Before a land alteration permit can be issued, applicant's contractor shall arrange <br />for a site inspection with the City stalT and Hennepin County DOT to determine <br />the need for ditch cleaning or any other improvement required to maintain <br />additional runoff.
