MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO CITY COUNCIL <br />MEETING HELD ON MARCH IL 1996 <br />(#19 - Park and Lawn Maintenance - Continued) <br />Hurr moved, Kelley seconded, to approve a two year agreement with Lawn Detailers for <br />an amount of $13,200 plus tax per year for the 1996 and 1997 season. Vote; Ayes 4, <br />Nays 0. <br />(*#20) RESOLUTION APPROVING ALLOCATION OF DAMAGES AND <br />AUTHORIZING PAYMENT THEREOF #36*8 <br />Goenen moved, Kelley seconded, to adopt Resolution #3688 approving the allocation of <br />damages and authoiizing payment thereof Vote: Ayes 3, Nays 0 <br />(#21) APPROVAL OF POLICE SECURITY SYSTEM AND GRANT <br />Moorse reported that this request for approval is for the security monitoring system for <br />the police department- This is to complete the system originally planned but was stalled <br />due to budget problems The conduit was previously installed. What is needed at this <br />time is the hardware and minor wiring. Moorse said a grant was available, which would <br />pay for 1/3 of the system, from the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry. This <br />Safety Abatement Grant would offset the cost by $2341 . The remainder ot the cost <br />would be paid for by the police department’s seizure and forfeiture fund. $7,000-8,000 <br />would be used for this system out of the current $25,000 balance. <br />Kelley asked how the current cost for the system compares to that previously bid. <br />Moorse said the costs were comparative but a switcher was added, along with an <br />additional quad unit to enable a user to choose one ot four screens tor viewing. <br />Hurr moved, Kelley seconded, to approve the purchase of a closed circuit television <br />system from Floyd Security in the amount of $10,748.00 with funding to come from the <br />seizure/fort'eiture tund (with $2,341.53 to be reimbursed thro* . b the Salety .Abatement <br />Grant).
