MN <br />CITY OF <br />ORONO <br />JUSEdO^ <br />mar, 2 o; 1997, <br />Jk ^ ^ ^ <br />A site evaluation was completed on these properties for the existing on-site sewage <br />treatment systems supporting the existing cabins. The easting systems are classified <br />as failing due to not meeting the 3' separation from the saturated soil (mottled soil) or <br />lack of system. The existing tanks are old. either metal or block type and will need to be <br />abandoned, pumped and filled with soil. A new system will need to be installed. <br />This on-site sewage treatment cluster system is designed for a Type 3, 3 bedroom 218 <br />gal/day each cabin totaling 654 gal/day. in accordance with the Minnesota Pollution <br />Control Agency Chapter 7080 and local ordinances. An easement agreement will be <br />required by the city. The agreement will require a maintenance schedule for maintaining <br />the tanks, and shared electrical costs, etc. A water meter will need to be installed in <br />each cabin to monitor the daily water use and to be recorded with the property. The <br />system will be 5' from the property line and up to the road easement, this will need <br />approval from the city. Approval will also be needed for a tank to be 5' from the Robb <br />cabin to stay out of a low area. <br />The soils on this site are SCS soils mapped - HbC - Hayden loam. The seasonally <br />saturated soils were located at 5'10". The bcttom of the treatment area must be located <br />at least 3' above the seasonally saturated soils. A standard gravelless 10" diameter <br />trench system may be installed. <br />The soils at a depth of 30" have a percolation rate averaging 10.4 mpi. <br />1
