(a) Height. When an amateur short-wave radio antenna is <br />mounted on an antenna tower, the total height of the antenna <br />and tower shall not exceed 55 feet. <br />(b) Yards. Amateur short-wave radio antennas and towers shall <br />not be located w ithin a front, comer side or side yard. <br />(c) Setbacks. Amateur short-wave radio antennas and towers <br />shall not be located within any required setback area and shall <br />be located no less than the height of the antenna and tower <br />from the property line. <br />Section 7. Section 10.40, B-1, Retail Sales Business District, Subd. 3 (F), Public Services, <br />to be amended and Subd. 1, Antenna Structure, and Subd. H, Antenna, to be deleted to read as <br />follows: <br />F.Public Services. Public service structures, including, but not limited to, <br />electric transmission lines and buildings such as telephone exchange stations, <br />booster or pressure stations, elevated tanks, lift stations and electric power <br />substations. Personal wireless serv ice and commercial broadcasting antennas <br />and towers shall not be considered public service structures. <br />Antenna. Any antenna of eembinat ion of antenna rig»dly attached to the <br />principal or acces sory stnictufc provided-that none of the foregoing exceeds <br />the total height allowed in Section 10.75. <br />f:-------Antenna Structure. One independent antenna stnicturc, with ant enna or <br />combination of antenna attached thereto, subordinate to and servicing the <br />principal use or structure on the same lot and eua toma rily incidental thereto <br />that is not attached to another structure provided the height of the antenna <br />structure docs not exceed 65 feet a nd the antenna structure is set back from <br />any lot line a distance at least equal to the total height of the antenna <br />structure. <br />H. Personal Wireless Serv ice Antennas and Towers. <br />(1) Purpose and intent. The purpose of this section is to establish <br />predictable, balanced regulations for the siting and screening of <br />wireless communication equipment in order to accommodate the <br />growth of wireless communication systems within the City of Orono <br />while protecting the public against any adverse impacts on the City’s <br />aesthetic resources and the public welfare.
