As you Xnow, we had investigator Jeffrey L. Hashinger of that firm loss site to atteept to determine the actual cause of the fire •to your carriage house. Mr. Wachinger's conclusions are as follows. Most importantly, Mr. Washinger did determine that fire in your carriage house was of an accidental nature. His report indicates that the fire originated along the central portion of the north wall common to the Jcitchen area of tte structure. Mr. Washinger's report goes on to indicate that based on the total destruction of the refrigerator, he considers it a strong indication that the fire was li^ly caused by that refrigerator. Our problem at this point is that there is not enough of tlie refrigerator left to do an accurate analysis to determine the specific problem with it. Mr. Washinger analyzed the burn patterns to support his conclusions regarding tho fire starting in or around the ref rigerator. Due to the almost total and complete destruction of the refrigerator unit, Mr. Washinger was not able to conclude the exact failure mode. He does indicate that the fire flow patcerns emanating away from the refrigerator do lend support to the theory of primary fire occurrence beginning in that area. At this time, we are in discussions with Mr. Washinger as well as Travelers Insurance Company Engineering per?ionnel to determine if there is enough evidence left to do in actual analysis of the remaining refrigerator parts.
