Council Update Continued <br />January 19, 1996 <br />page 2 of 2 <br />7. <br />8. <br />Staff has scheduled a meeting with representatives of Personnel Decisions Inc. A <br />selection process consultant, to discuss police officer testing and selection processes. <br />PDI is used by a number of metro area cities for police officer testing. They have a <br />validated police officer testing process. <br />Re-Enerei2ing Work Shoos. <br />Twelve staff members are registered to attend a series of re-energizing work shops being <br />held on a weekly basis in January and February. The series of 5 three hour work shops <br />are being provided at a total cost of $50.00 per participant through a cooperative effort <br />among a large number of cities in the metro area. The initial work shop which was held <br />on January 16 received very positive reviews. <br />Cooperative Police Service Study. <br />The Lake Area Managers have been involved in a study to identify new options for <br />providing police services on a cooperative basis. The initial phase of the study which <br />was to identify and compile information of the amount of resources being used for police <br />services around the lake has been completed. The next step is to develop alternative <br />ways of organizing for police services that enable the resources to be used more <br />effectively.
