This is the appro.ximately 1.5 acres <br />east of Lakeside Marina, which the DNR purchased in 1992 but which is no longer intended <br />for use as a public access. <br />As part of the process for selling this property, DNR is required to offer it for sale to a <br />number of government entities, including the City, prior to opening it up to public sale. The <br />attached letter indicates the property has a set price of $183,546 based on DNR's appraised <br />value plus their administrative costs. If the City desires to purchase this property, the deadline <br />for such decision is January 18. <br />If none of the government entitles chooses to acquire the property, it will be offered for sale <br />to the public. The attached letter dated August 3, 1995 advises the DNR, as well as <br />prospective buyers, of the limitations and poten ial uses of the property under current zoning. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Determine whether the City has any interest in purchasing the Straley property.
