The purpose of the agenda item is to gain approval of the Orono Fire Department <br />Organizational Chart and Job Descriptions. <br /> <br />2. Background. Staff was given the direction to start the Orono Fire Department by Council at the <br />June 12, 2023 City Council Meeting. The City Council is asked to review the organizational chart and <br />job description for the Orono Fire Department. This organizational chart outlines the structure of the <br />department and some key leadership positions within the organization. Before we start hiring firefighters, <br />staff wanted to gain approval of the organizational chart and the job descriptions for the new department. <br />The job descriptions are for the main positions within the Fire Department. Also included in this item is a <br />timeline for hiring firefighters and critical leadership roles for both stations. <br /> <br />3. Staff Recommendation.
