Crosby II, Matt <br /> Johnson, and Maria Veach. Staff members present were City Administrator Adam Edwards, <br /> Finance Director Ron Olson,Parks and Golf Course Superintendent Josh Lemons, and City Clerk <br /> Anna Carlson. <br /> 1. General Fund Budget Update <br /> Finance Director Ron Olson presented the preliminary general fund budget draft to the <br /> City Council. He noted that all department heads met with he and the City Administrator <br /> to review changes and additions to their annual department budgets. One thing to note is' <br /> that there are a few items, like health insurance costs and property values that will impact <br /> budgeting,however, we will not know those numbers until later in the year. He noted <br /> that the golf course is moving into enterprise budget where it belongs. He also noted <br /> staff has created a communications budget since the department expenses have grown. <br /> Staff believes it will more accurately depict the expenses for communications items <br /> versus having it in the central services budget. <br /> There was discussion related to what budgeted costs go into each fund and what the <br /> purposes for each fund are for as well. There was also discussion about how increases <br /> and decreases affect the overall budget and how property value increases affect the tax <br /> rate. <br /> Mayor Walsh noted that a large part of the general fund is made up of wages, <br /> personal/people type services, etc. <br /> Edwards explained that enterprise funds will be discussed at the August meetings. <br /> Meeting ended at 5:46 p.m. <br /> CITY OF ORONO: <br /> ATTEST: _______rj7 <br /> Dennis Walsh, Mayor <br /> Anna Carlson, City Clerk <br /> Page 1 of 1 <br />
