%iCITy^^> <br />City of OROIVO 3flr\'>bi 1- <br />fmpm.: <br />l;QRQNQ <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL , <br />NO. ^m> ^ <br />DESCRIBING FUTURE STREET <br />LOCATION PLANS IN THE <br />NAVARRE AREA <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono is a municipal corporation organized <br />and existing under the laws of the State of Minnesota? and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 462, the City <br />of Orono has adopted a Comprehensive Community Management Plan and <br />subdivision regulations for the orderly, economic and safe development <br />of land within the City; and <br />WHEREAS, City ordinances and planning policy require dedication <br />of street rights-of-way and construction of streets and utilities as a <br />part of every Sv LaiV'i'''on application wherever such new services ar^ <br />made necessary by such land subdivision or development; and <br />WHEREAS, it is within the scope and intent of compreh^ . <br />planning to look beyond the immediate property undergoing devex pme. <br />to coordinate a rational and economic system of public improveni->ri <br />for an entire area; and <br />WHEREAS, even though it is necessary to plan a system of purJic <br />improvements on a broad basis, it is not always desireable to accurately <br />locate or physically design said improvements until such time as an <br />actual plan for development is submitted for the affected property; and <br />VIHEREAS, extensive traffic studies were undertaken as a part <br />of the recent review of Schlee Builder's, Inc. subdivision applications <br />S585 and f^671, from which the City Council has identified a need to plan <br />for future public streets and utilities to serve both the Schlee property <br />and the adjacent tracts of land west of the Schlee property. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City <br />of Orono hereby makes the following findings of fact and intent as regar s <br />the overall planning of future streets and utilities v/ithin the Schlee <br />subdivision, and on the properties adjacent thereto: <br />1) The area of the City involved in this plan is all that <br />land south of Northern Avenue and the Burlington Northern <br />Railroad, west of Blaine Avenue, north of Shoreline Drive <br />(County Road 15), and east of the east line of the <br />Hennepin County Shops (east of the SWJ^ of the SV.’’^ of <br />Section 17). <br />Page 1 of 8
