r <br />2000 with the following Special Provision to allow the City of Medina to review its Fire <br />Protection requirements in more detail before committing to this Agreement for three <br />years. During the Period Covered (19.1), City of Medina ratification of 1998 and 1999 <br />Annual Budget Packages is not required for the term of the Agreement to be extended. If <br />the City of Medina does ratify either the 1998 or 1999 Annual Budget Package the City <br />shall by that action be considered to have agreed to the terms of this Agreement and <br />commits to its three year provisions. However, even if the City of Medina does not ratify <br />either the 1998 or the 1999 Annual Budget Package it shall be considered to have met the <br />terms of this Agreement for the Initial period 1994 uhrough 1996 but it will not be a <br />Contracting City thereafter. <br />19.1 The period <br />The period covered by this Special Provision shall be the Contract Years 'igSS and 1999 <br />except as provided in 19.4 below. <br />19.2 Provision to adjust City Fire Service Area <br />During the period covered, the City of Medina may request that its City Fire Service Area <br />be reduced or increased in size to meet the requirements of the City of Medina. Such a <br />request must be made prior to July 1 of the Contract Year to allow time for preparing the <br />Annual Budget Package. <br />In the event that the City of Medina, proposes an increase to its City Fire Service Area, the <br />City of Long Lake In consultation with the Long Lake Fire Department shall have the right <br />to limit the increase to assure that coverage at the service level provided under this <br />agreement can be achieved by the Fire Department. The service area shall not be <br />increased to the extent that it requires the purchase of additional equipment unless all <br />parties to the contract agree. In the event that the City of Medina wishes to decrease <br />and/or alter the location of Its City Fire Service Area It may do so by specifying those <br />changes in writing by July 1 of the contract year. If the location of the City Fire Service Is <br />altered, such changes must be agreed to by the City of Long Lake in consultation with the <br />Long Lake Fire Department before they will be covered by this Agreement. <br />19.3 City Fire Service Area adjustment limitation. <br />In the event the City of Medina reduces its City Fire Service Area to a point where using <br />the calculations of Section 16 their City Budget Percentage is less than 2%, the City <br />agrees to the following; <br />A. Concurrence of the other Contracting Cities will be required to remain covered <br />by the terms of this Agreement. <br />B. The City will relinquish the right and requirement that it ratify successive Annual <br />Budget Packages but will continue to pay its City Budget Percent of each Annual <br />Operating Budget
