Gappa <br />Title Director of Public Services <br />Administrator Reviewed:Agenda Section: <br />Engineer's Report <br />Item Description: Entrance Canopy for Public Works Canopy <br />We have experienced problems with roof drainage causing ice buildup in front of the Public <br />Works building main entrance. The proposed solution to this problem is construction of a canopy <br />to divert the water that is draining from the roof valley out past the building entrance sidewalk. <br />This issue was previously presented to the Council and authorization was given to obtain <br />quotations for this project. The preliminary budget estimate for this project is $20,000. <br />We have completed plans for this project and contacted several contractors to obtain quotations <br />for completion of this work. The contractors have indicated that they will have prices by <br />Monday. Several contractors are waiting for approval from their bonding companies before <br />submitting quotations. Time is critical for this project, as we want this work completed before <br />winter. <br />We have put this item on the agenda without a contractor recommendation included in tl j Council <br />meeting packet to save time, as waiting until the next meeting will delay the project for two <br />weeks. A tabulation of quotes and contractor recommendation will be provided at the Council <br />meeting on Monday. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Review and consideration of Contractor quotations for an entrance canopy at the Public Works <br />building. A tabulation of quotations and contractor recommendation will be presented at the <br />Council meeting.
