ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES FOR OCTOBER 13,1997 <br />f <br />! I <br />I <br />COUNCIL MEETINGOCT 2 Y 1997 <br />ROLL <br />CITY OF ORONO <br />The Council met on the above mentioned date with the following members present: <br />Mayor Gabriel Jabbour, Council Members J. Diann Goetten, Charles Kelley, Barbara <br />Peterson, and Richard Flint. Representing Staff were City Administrator Ron Moorse, <br />City Attorney Tom Barrett, Senior Planning Coordinator Michael Gafffon, <br />Planner/Zoning Administrator Elizabeth Van Zomeren, Public Services Director Greg <br />Gappa, City Engineer Glenn Cook, and Recorder Sherry Frost. Mayor Jabbour called <br />the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />(*#1) CONSENT AGENDA <br />Items #5, 8,12,13, 14, 15, 18,21,22,23,31,32, and 33 were added to the Consent <br />Agenda. <br />Goetten moved, Flint seconded, to approve the Consent Agenda as amended. Vote: <br />Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />(*#2) REGULAR MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 22,1997 <br />Goetten moved, Flint seconded, to approve the Minutes of the Regular City Council <br />Meeting of September 22,1997. Vote: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />(*#3) PUBLIC HEARING OF SEPTEMBER 23,1997 - NAVARRE WATER <br />TREATMENT PLANT REHABILITATION <br />Goetten moved, Flint seconded, to approve the Minutes of the Public Hearing of <br />September 23,1997 regarding the Navarre Water Treatment Plan Rehabilitation. Vote: <br />Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />PARK COMMISSION COMMENTS <br />Jim White reviewed the issues of concern for the Park Commission. He indicated that <br />the Commission has recommended only Casco Ice Rink be flooded this year and nnks <br />eliminated at Hackberry and Bederwood due to poor ice quality due and low usage. He <br />reported that the Commission recommended park dedication be in cash for the Garden <br />Lane and Brook Park Realty Subdivisions. White said the Park Commissioners would <br />like to know the assessed values of the properties being reviewed for park dedication <br />before their recommendations are made. <br />White informed the Council the Commission will be reviewing long term funding at <br />their November meeting and will report on options available.
