& <br />ORONO <br />. <br />£ * <br />* * <br />■y. <br />1' <br />City of ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. 1412 <br />DESCRIBING FUTURE STREET <br />LOCATION PLANS IN THE <br />NAVARRE AREA <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono is a municipal corporation organized <br />and existing under the laws of the State of Minnesota; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 462, the City <br />of Orono has adopted a Comprehensive Community Management Plan and <br />subdivision regulations for the orderly, economic and safe development <br />of land within the City; and <br />WHEREAS, City ordinances and planning policy require dedication <br />of street rights-of-way and construction of streets and utilities as a <br />part of every subdivision application wherever such new services are <br />made necessary by such land subdivision or development; and <br />WHEREAS, it is within the scope and intent of comprehensive <br />planning to look beyond the immediate property undergoing development <br />to coordinate a rational and economic system of public improvements <br />for an entire area; and <br />WHEREAS, even though it is necessary to plan a system of public <br />improvements on a broad basis, it is not always desireable to accurately <br />locate or physically design said improvements until such time as an <br />actual plan for development is submitted for the affected property; and <br />WHEREAS, extensive traffic studies were undertaken as a part <br />ucQc^^ review of Schlee Builder's, Inc. subdivision applications <br />#585 and #671, from which the City Council has identified a need to plan <br />future public streets and utilities to serve both the Schlee property <br />and the adjacent tracts of land west of the Schlee property. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City <br />® ®^°uo hereby makes the following findings of fact and intent as regards <br />the overall planning of future streets and utilities within the Schlee <br />subdivision, and on the properties adjacent thereto; <br />1) The area of the City involved in this plan is all that <br />land south of Northern Avjnue and the Burlington Northern <br />west of Blaine Avenue, north of Shoreline Drive <br />(County Road 15), and east of the east line of the <br />Hennepin County Shops (east of the SWk of the SWk of <br />Section 17). <br />Page 1 of 8 <br />•V-\ *«•«»«< •-
