MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO CITY COUNCIL <br />MEETING HELD ON JULY 28,1997 <br />(#8) #2258 GERALD E. WALSH, 180 BIG ISLAND - VARIANCE - <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3935 <br />Mrs. Walsh was present. <br />Gaffron reported that the request is for the lot area variance similar to those granted to <br />other Record Lots per the RS District ordinances which began in 1983. The property on <br />Big Island was reviewed together, grouped by ownership, categorized by size, and <br />granted a variance for building of Record Lots. The owTiers of lots that were allowed <br />this variance were required to execute variance documents. This property was vacant at <br />that time and has changed ownership several times. The documents were not signed for <br />the subject property. The applicant would like to guarantee his right to build on the <br />property and formally establish the automatic lot area variance. <br />Gaffron reviewed the .64 acre property, which is 100' wide x 283 ’ deep, a size common <br />to other lots in the areti. riaffron said the applicant w'ould be required to obtain a survey <br />of the property if he desires building permits. Gaffron said the property is located in the <br />5 acre zoning and would not be eligible for subdivision. <br />Kelley moved, Goetten seconded, to approve Resolution No. 3935.
