The city has determmed that it wll acquire <br />approximately 9 acres of the property for public park land use and will release the remainmg 1/2 acre <br />for sale by the County to adjacent property owners. To enable this to occur it is necessary o <br />subdivide the parcel. <br />The Council at its June 9 meeting continued action on the subdivision to enable a legal question <br />regarding whether the city was authorized to subdivide the property since the city is not the fee <br />owner at this time. In following up on this question with the County, staff did ^tam auAonzatoon <br />from the County to proceed with the subdivision. Staff also was advised by the Co^ty ttot in order <br />for the subdivision to be completed in 1997 the County would need an indication from Ae city that <br />the subdivision would proceed by Friday, June 13. In response to this deadline staff polled the <br />Council to confirm approval of the subdivision subject to ratification at the June 23 meetmg. Staff <br />received approval from the Council and the County has proceeded witii the subdivision. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to adopt a resolution approving a subdivision of the Saga Hill tax forfeit property.
