The city's review of the proposed budget has raised concerns regarding the substantial <br />increase in contributions by the cities to fund the proposed expenditures. The Legislature has placed <br />cities under a levy limit for the next several years. This levy limit will be approximately equal to <br />the cost of living increase. The pioposed increase in the city of Orono's contribution to the LMCD <br />for 1998 is several times the expected increase in the cost of living. <br />Sincerely, <br />Ronald J.
