BOARD OF DIRECTORS DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: <br />The Board normally meets once a month on the second Thursday commencing <br />at 7:00 p.m. The Board approves the annual budget and work program; <br />establishes annual dues rate; establishes program and legislative policy <br />priorities; appoints members of legislative policy committees; nominates the <br />10 city elected officials on the Transportation Advisory Board (TAB); appoints <br />8 city staff members to the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) and is <br />responsible for the overall management and direction of AMM staff. <br />Due to the two-term board limitation, there will be some new Board <br />Directors elected. Nominations are solicited for both elective and <br />administrative city officials from throughout the entire metropolitan area <br />and especially from cities under 10,000 population. <br />IV. REMINDER: INNOVATIVE PROJECTS AND PEACEMAKER <br />AWARDS <br />We would like to remind you to send in your entries for the 1997 AMM <br />Innovative City and Peacemaker Awards competition. Information packets <br />were mailed 10 days ago. All entries must be postmarked no later the Friday, <br />May 9. The winners will be honored at the Amiual Meeting on May 29, 1997. <br />If you have any questions, contact Cheryl at 215-4000. <br />Attached is a listing of current boardmembers and officers. <br />Please contact Vem Peterson in the AMM office (215-4000) should you want more <br />information concerning these matters. <br />DISTRIBUTION NOTE: This bulletin has been mailed to mayors and <br />manager/administrators only.
