A validated <br />candidate screening test was conducted on February 7, 1997 with forty-four (44) candidates <br />attending. Scoring and ranking of the test scores were provided by PDI, a personnel consulting firm. <br />The top seven candidates each participated in an oral interview, and report writing skills were <br />reviewed. After this interview, three candidates were re-interviewed by City Administrator Ron <br />Moorse and Police Chief Gary Cheswick. <br />Recommendation <br />The Police Chief and City Administrator recommend Kenneth Scott Hall to be hired as a part-time <br />police officer for the city of Orono. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Motion to appoint Kenneth Scott Hall to the position of part-time police officer, effective April 15, <br />1997 at a starting pay of $11.89 hourly; and to adopt the attached resolution establishing the <br />eligibility of the position for coverage the State Public Employee Retirement Fund for police <br />officers.
