minutes of the orono planning commission <br />MEETING HELD ON MARCH 17, 1997 <br />Gaf&on reported that the aoDlication is a Citv-initiated ''housekeeoina" rezonina of a 55' <br />strip of land remaining that is still zoned in the 2 acre residential zoning from the creation <br />of Sugar Woods in 1988. Property was rezoned at that tune from 2 acre single family to 1 <br />acre single family. The southern boundary was not included next to the B-1. Staff is <br />recommending rezoning of the majority to B-1 and a portion in the Sugar Woods <br />residential buffer area u>nverted to R-1,1 acre zoning. Outlot D is to be zoned 1 acre <br />with Outlot E (the Wear property) and Outlot F to B-1. <br />McMillan questioned whether this rezoning would affect the issue previously discussed in <br />the Reber application (agenda item #2) or the proposed frontage road. Gaf&on informed <br />her that tliis rezoning was to clean up some pieces of land into the intended residential and <br />commercial zones. <br />There were no public comments. <br />Berg moved, Lindquist seconded, to approve Application #2224. <br />Stoddard inquired if Mr. Wear was notified of this rezoning. Gaffiron said he had spoken <br />with Wear, who had no problem with the proposed rezoning.
