Excavations of 60 cubic yards or less, and <br />placement of up to 30 cubic yards of crushed rock, gravel, dean sand, or small stone shall be allowed In order <br />to provide a stable base or maintain use of the ramp.* <br />3. The ramp shall be constructed of gravel, natural rock, concrete, steel matting, or other durable inorganic <br />material not exceeding six inches in thickness. <br />* NOTE: The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District may require a permit for the excavation or fill assodated with <br />constructing or reconstructing a boat launching ramp. <br />Criteria for projects that can be approved by this General Permit The preference is to have projects meet the DNR <br />conditions for when a DNR permit is not required. However, it is recognized that site conditions vary and that it is not <br />always feasible or practical to meet those conditions. <br />1. The proposed project must represent the minimal impact solution to a spedfic need with respect to all other <br />reasonable alternatives. . . w * * <br />2 The project will involve a minimum of encroachment, change, or damage to the environment, induding but not <br />limited to fish and wildlife habitat, navigation, water supply and storm water retention, <br />All multiple dock and mooring fadlities (docks or mooring areas for 5 or more watercraft) require a DNR permit. <br />Criteria for projects that can be approved by this General Permit: <br />1. The size and shape shall be designed in a compact fashion so as to blend in with the surrounding shoreline <br />while minimizing the surface area occupied in relation to the number of watercraft to be served. <br />If an Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) is mandatory, in accordance with Minnesota Rules, Chapter <br />4410.4300, subp. 25 (i.e., construction or cumulative expansion greater than 20,000 square feet), a separate <br />DNR permit is required. <br />2. <br />i
