A RESOLUTION GRANTING VARIANCES <br />TO MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br />SECTION 10.25, SUBDIVISION 6 AND <br />SECTION 10.03, SUBDIVISION 9 <br />FILE NO. 2219 <br />WHEREAS, Penny Saiki (hereinafter "the applicant") is the owner of the <br />property located at 2874 Casco Point Road within the City of Orono (hereinafter "the City") <br />and legally described as follows: <br />Lot 38, Block 4, Casco Heights and Tract C, Registered Land Survey No. 461, <br />Hennepin County, Minnesota (hereinafter "the property"); and <br />WHEREAS, the applicant has applied to the City for variances to Municipal <br />Zoning Code Section 10.25, Subdivision 6 to permit relocation of an existing garage to be <br />located 30' from the street and 20’ from the front property line where a 30' setback is required. <br />Per Section 10.03, Subdivision 9, to permit the relocated garage to be located approximately <br />3’ forward of the principal structure where no accessor>- building is allowed to be located nearer <br />to the front or street lot line than the principal structure. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br />Miimesota: <br />FINDINGS <br />1. <br />2. <br />This application was reviewed as Zoning File #2219. <br />The property is located in the LR-IC Single Family Lakeshore Residential <br />Zoning District requiring one-half acre in area. The property consists of 14,686 <br />s.f. or .337 acres. <br />3.The Orono Planning Commission reviewed this application on March 17, 1997, <br />and recommended approval of the proposed variances based upon the following <br />findings: <br />Page 1 of 4
