(facultative upland), joe-pye weed Eitpatoriadelphiis maculatus (obligate), <br />spotted touch-me-nct Impatiens capensis (facultative wetland), swamp milkweed <br />Asclepias incarnate (obligate) and smooth brome Bromus inermis (facultative <br />upland). <br />Vegetation along the inside the wetland boundary consists of sedge Carex spp. <br />(facultative wetland), swamp milkweed Asclepias incarnata (obligate), joe-pye <br />weed Eupatoriadelphus maculatus (obligate), blue vervain Vida americana <br />(facultative wetland +) and reed-canary grass Phalaris arundinacea (facultative <br />wetland) <br />Upland vegetation consists of sedge Carex spp. (facultative wetland), Canada <br />thistle Cirsium arvense (facultative upland), smooth brome Bromus inermis <br />(facultative upland), green ash Fraxinus pennsyivanica (facultative wetland), <br />common buckthorn Rhamniis cathartica (facultative upland), golden rod <br />Solidago spp. (facultative upland), Kentucky bluegrass Poa pratensis <br />(facultative-) and common milkweed Asclepias syrica (upland) <br />According to the 1974 USD A Soil Survey of Hennepin County, basin 1 soils <br />are classified as Peaty muck, surrounded by Hamel loam and Hayden and <br />Lester loams at 24 to 35 percent slopes. The soil survey also indicates a small <br />intermittent drainage coming out of the basin. This drainage was delineated as <br />wetland 3. Hamel, Hayden and Lester loams i.re on the Hennepin County <br />hvdric soils list. <br />Boundary soils were field identified as black (10 YR 2/0) from 0 to 12 inches. <br />Mottles were very slight and a high organic content was noted. <br />Soils inside the wetland boundary were identified as black (10 YR 2/0) silty <br />clay from 0 to 12 inches. Mottles were colored as dark brown (10 '):'R 3/3) and <br />gray (10 YR 5/1). The mottles occur throughout the soil profile. <br />Upland soils were field identified as very dark grayish brown (10 YR 3/2) from <br />0 to 12 inches. <br />Inside the wetland basin, soils were saturated at 12 inches.
