r
Dan. :'l. \QU
1397 Orono Lane
\\ avzata, .Minnesoia 55391
^-1
January 22, 1997
Mr. A1 Willcutt
Lake Minnetonka Conservation District
2500 Shadywood Road - Suite #19
Excelsior, MN 55331
Dear A1:
We, the residents of Orono Lane, have concerns about
planned changes to the lakeshore side of Browns Bay
Marina with it's proposed rebuilding plans.
As you know, we all face the lakeshore side. In the
past vre have worked with the LMCD with regard to the
Marina's dock slips, in number, size and configura
tion. Maintaining our sight-line across the Lake is
of paramount concern.
In addition, we have had pollution concerns about
the use of old tires currently used as jetties in
the water. Further, increased milfoil is choking
out our bay, so increased boat traffic and the intro
duction of a pump-out station are very alarming.
We have had representation at the Orono Planning
Commission meeting of January 21, 1997 and we will
be at the Orono Council meeting on January 27, 1997.
We have reviewed the city application plans for
rebuilding and redesigning the Marina. Genmar
Industries has pledged they are NOT planning any
changes to number, size or configuration of dock
slips. The city has passed the planned changes
based on those statements, with the explanation that
LMCD holds the power to monitor the lakeshore im
pact. That is why v;e are appealing to you.
We are asking you to be sure this nledge is upheld
and that if any changes are contemplated, we would
be notified in advance by the LMCD.
A written response would be most appreciated.
Thank you for your consideration.
ri.*' t I Wti ■ m ■■ I iriMTTiiMii i
