Gaffron <br />January 20, 1997 <br />Page Two <br />IPinally, I think it is unfortunate from an aesthetic standpoint <br />that the burn (leased by us from Dakota Rail) between Orono <br />Orchard Road and our driveway would eliminated. This provides a <br />natural bank to the curve and its elimination will only increase <br />the tendency to take the curve at speed when coming from downtown <br />Minneapolis. <br />My wife has spoke to Bob Polatchek, the design engineer, who <br />appeared receptive to our concerns. <br />I repeat that we encourage attempts to improve County Road 15, <br />but ask you seriously to consider these safety hazards and be <br />sure that any changes that are made lessen the potential for <br />disaster rather than increase it. <br />Please keep us informed of meetings and information that address <br />this project. <br />Kind regards. <br />Yours truly, <br />Alfred Harrison <br />AH/meh <br />CC: Please copy this memo fcr members of the Planning Commission <br />,
