TO:Chair Smith and Orono Planning Commission Members <br />Ron Moorse, City Administrator <br />FROM: <br />DATE: <br />Liz Van Zomeren, City Planner/Zoning Administrator <br />July 13, 1998 <br />SUBJTECT:#2390 David Rahn <br />1385 Rest Point Road <br />Variance-Public Hearing <br />Zoning District: LR-IB One Family Lakeshore Residential District (1 acre) <br />Lot Area:14,663 sq. ft. (.33 acres) <br />Application:The applicant is requesting a hardcover variance in the 75'-250' setback <br />to construct a double garage, retaining wall, and driveway. The applicant <br />requested previous variances last year to change a cabin into a residence. <br />(See File # 2248). <br />The following variances were granted in 1997: <br />1.Side yard variance to allow a second story addition 5.3' from the <br />south property line where 5.3' was existing and 10' is required. <br />2.A hardcover variance in the 0'-75' setback of 19% where none is <br />allowed. The amount of hardcover allowed in the 0'-75' setback is to <br />be subtracted out from the total amount allowed in the 75'-250' <br />setback. <br />3. A lakeshore setback variance to allow the cabin to be remodeled in <br />place where the cabin encroached into the required 75' setback. <br />A conditional use permit was granted to allow for land alteration in the <br />0'-75' setback.
