ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />MINUTES FOR MAY 18,1998 <br />(#5 - Zoning Amendment - Continued) <br />Smith asked for public comments. Chris Valerius, 3750 Bayside Road, stated that when they bought <br />their property in 1992, they were told they could use the wetland credit. Smith asked Gafiron hov\ <br />this proposal affected the current applications. Gaffron replied this docs impact any subdivision like <br />that of Valerius. Smith asked whether this zoning amendment goes into effect immediately upon <br />Council approval, and how this would impact current applications. Gaffron noted this is an issue <br />for the City Attorney to review. He indicated the applicant has applied for a sketch plan review, but <br />has not made a formal preliminary plat application. Gaffron noted the Valerius request should be <br />reviewed by the City Council at the same time this amendment is reviewed. Lindquist asked how <br />long the zoning amendment process would take. Gaffron replied this would be reviewed by the <br />Council at its next meeting, and if adopted would take approximately three weeks until publication. <br />Stoddard noted there could be a refund of application money if Valerius did not proceed. <br />McMillan noted the City Council will be aware of the potential conflict with the ordinance. <br />Stoddard moved, Hawn seconded, to approve proposed amendment upon staffs recommendation. <br />Vote: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />(#6) f#2361 WILLIAM YAEGER, 310 BIG ISLAND (LOT 64, MORSE ISLAND PARK) - <br />VARIANCES - 8:26 P.M. <br />The Certificate of Mailing and Affidavit of Publication were noted. <br />Applicant not present. <br />McMillan moved and Hawn seconded to table #2361 to the next meeting as the survey was <br />unavailable. Vote: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />(#7) #2364, JOHN SERENA, 4607 WATERTOWN ROAD - CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT, <br />8:26 P.M. <br />The Certificate of Mailing and Affidavit of Publication were noted, <br />Aoplicant not present. <br />Smith asked to defer this issue and come back to it. <br />(Follows Item #17.)
