The proposed ordinance <br />is summarized as: <br />A. Definition <br />The amendment simplifies the definition of a home occupation and deletes all regulations from <br />ihe definition and organizes them in the accessory use section of the Zoning Code. <br />B. Purpose <br />The amendment includes a "purpose statement" which explains the intent of the amendment <br />and the concept that the home occupation is subservient to the residential use of the dwelling <br />unit. <br />C. Employees <br />The amendment expands the number of persons that can be affiliated with the home occupation <br />from only household members to one additional person who does not reside in the residence. <br />The amendment clarifies that domestic employees and day care is exempt from this section. <br />D. Building Modifications <br />The amendment states that a property owner cannot make changes to the structure that make it <br />look like a commercial use or so significantly change it that it would difficult to reuse the <br />building for residential purposes.
