< <br />MINUTES OP THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD APRIL 14, 1986 • <br />#1010 DUANE H. HALL <br />1860 SHADYWOOD ROAD <br />PRELIMINARY SUBDIVISION <br />Acting City Administrator Gerhardson explained the <br />request for a subdivision and variance at 1860 Shadywood <br />Road in which properties are legally combined. <br />Applicant is requesting to a subdivision of a lot line <br />rearrangement to create a new building site and <br />variances of lot area, lot width, and hardcover. <br />Planning Commission recommended denial of this <br />application. He noted that Mr. Hall has notified staff <br />and Council in his letter (attached to memo) that he <br />would not be able to be present at this meeting but <br />requests Council to act on his application in his <br />absence. <br />Mayor Butler asked Attorney Blatz her opinion regarding <br />action on this application without applicant's presence. <br />Attorney Blatz stated her recommendation would be to <br />defer action until applicant and/or a representative for <br />applicant is present. <br />Based on Attorney Blatz's opinion, it was moved by <br />Councilmember Frahm, seconded by CounciImember Grabek, <br />to table this application. <br />#1013 STEVE KATAINEII <br />3850 SHORELINE DRIVE <br />COMMERCIAL SITE PLAN REVIE17 <br />Acting City Administrator Gerhardson explained the <br />application for a commercial site plan reveiv; for <br />proposed 80'x84' structure to house furniture <br />sales/storage operation. He noted that the furniture <br />store use is not currently addressed in the B-5 zone, <br />however the Planning Commission has found the use to <br />meet the intent of the B-5 zoning district. Applicant <br />has provided all necessary information and has agreed to <br />enter into a developers agreement to assure-, completion <br />of certain site improvements. <br />Steve Katainen was present for this matter. <br />Zoning Administrator Mabusth noted that the City <br />Engineer and M.C.W.D. has confirmed that the property <br />will have no drainage problems and are satisfied with <br />the hydrolic information submitted by applicant's <br />engineer. <br />Mr. Katainen indicated that the proposed building would <br />be finished on all four sides with brick & wood siding, <br />however the actual building drawings have not been <br />finalized. <br />8
