Nothing other than human waste, toilet tissue, laundry, showers, water softener etc. <br />should be disposed of into the septic tanks. Iron filters must be diverted out of the <br />system. Garbage disposals are not recommended, due to adding more solids & fine <br />solids passing through to the system. Excessive amounts of soaps, cleaning agents & <br />chlorine agents may kill the bacteria needed to treat septic effluent. Additives are not <br />recommended. Recommend to pump & clean your tanks through the manhole by a <br />certified pumper every 2 years. Check with your pumper to set up a schedule. <br />Steven B. Schirmers
