The purpose of this action item is to appoint Andrea Hentges to the position of Accountant. <br /> <br />2. Background. On June 10th the Council accepted the resignation of Carrie Krienke from the position <br />of Accountant, effective June 19, 2023. This council action would appoint Anne Hentges to the open <br />position of Accountant. <br /> <br />3. Recruitment. An internal selection process was used to recruit for this position. Anne was the only <br />current employee that applied. The City Administrator and Finance Director interviewed the candidate <br />and concluded that based on her education, demonstrated abilities, and knowledge that Anne is an <br />excellent fit for the position. <br /> <br />4. Recommended Candidate. Anne has been with the City for five-years. During her time with the <br />City she has worked in various position ranging from Administrative Assistant to her current role as the <br />Resource Management Technician. Since the Accountants resignation effective June 20th, she has been <br />working as the interim Accountant. Anne has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and is <br />currently working on a Human Resources certificate. She has proven to be a valuable member of the <br />Finance Department with responsibilities including: Utility Billing; Payroll; Benefit Administration; <br />Accounts Payable, Cash Receipting, and General Accounts Receivable. At all of her positions, she has <br />been able to master her new responsibilities and improve existing processes. Based on her qualifications <br />and impressive performance for the department, I would like to promote her to the position of <br />Accountant. <br /> <br />5. Recommended Compensation. I recommend promoting Anne Hentges to the position of <br />Accountant. Based on her experience and qualifications I recommend that she be placed at Grade 11 Step <br />2 ($38.70) of the Local 12 pay scale with a date of June 20 for calculating step increases. <br /> <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to approve the hiring of Andrea Hentges as Accountant at Grade 11 Step 2 of the Local 12 of the <br />OPEIU wage scale and to approve a hiring process to fill the open Resource Management Technician <br />position and to initiate a hiring process for the Account Resource Technician. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Item No.: 4 Date: July 10, 2023 <br />Item Description: Authorization to Hire Anne Hentges – Accountant <br />Presenter: Ron Olson <br />Finance Director <br />Agenda <br />Section: <br />Consent Agenda
