<br /> <br />SECTION 02975 -BITUMINOUS SURFACE CRACK AND JOINT REPAIR <br />PART 1 -- GENERAL <br />1.1 SUMMARY <br /> <br />A. This section covers the furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, equipment and performances of all work and <br />services necessary or incidental to the repairing of the existing bituminous surface improvements; including routing, <br />cleaning and sealing the existing surface. <br /> <br />1.2 METHOD OF MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> <br />A. Measurement and compensation for the following items shall be paid according to the referenced <br />specification or as modified below: <br /> <br />1. Payment shall be at the unit price bid per linear foot of cracks which were identified by the Engineer, and <br />properly routed, cleaned and sealed by the Contractor. <br /> <br />B. The furnishing and installing of specific items and/or the performance of work under certain circumstance s <br />shall not be individually paid in the absence of a specific bid item for the work. The costs shall be included in the <br />unit price bid for the associated geotextile fabric - trench construction items. Such items of work include but are not <br />limited to: <br /> <br />1. Surface preparation including sweeping, brushing, etc., include in the unit price bid for crack sealing. <br /> <br />2. Protecting castings and valve caps from sealant material, include in the unit price bid for crack sealing. <br /> <br />1.3 SPECIFICATION REFERENCES <br /> <br />A. MnDOT Specification Section 3723 shall apply to the sealing of all cracks, except as modified herein. <br /> <br />B. Unless noted otherwise, the provisions in this section are in addition to the referenced specification. <br /> <br />PART 2 -- PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.1 MATERIALS <br /> <br />A. Crack Sealant
