The purpose of this action item is to gain Council approval for the 2023 Streets <br />Maintenance Crack Sealing project. <br /> <br />2. Background. Crack sealing is a routine preventive road maintenance process. <br /> <br />3. Project Scope. The identified streets shall have their cracks and routed, cleaned and sealed. Spot <br />sealing will be required on areas with a concentration of small cracks. (See Exhibit A) <br /> <br />4. Cost. Public Works received quotes from 3 contractors for crack sealing. A summary of the quotes <br />received are listed in the table below. The lowest quote was from MP Asphalt Maintenance INC for <br />$30,127.50 <br /> <br />Contractor Total Quote <br />MP Asphalt Maintenance INC $30,127.50 <br />Allied Blacktop Company $95,000.00 <br />Astech Corp. 146,250.00 <br /> <br />5. Funding. The project will be funded from the pavement management fund. The 2023 Public works <br />plan and CIP allocated $80,000 Contracted pavement preventive maintenance. <br /> <br />6. Staff Recommendation. I recommend the City Council accept the quote from MP Asphalt <br />Maintenance INC for crack sealing <br /> <br />7.
