(laughter in the crowd) <br />“I'd like to open this for discussion. <br />I don't think there is a need for 8 miles of road, take out some of the <br />berming and maybe we could even make some allowances for the number of <br />trees. <br />McDonald - Maybe a ski place too. (laughter from crowd) <br />Rovegno - This planner is very creative and maybe he can do some of those things, 1 <br />tor one if we were down to 4.85, not setting an absolute, one wouldn' t be <br />too disturbed. <br />Goetten - As a point of discussion, the windy roads referring to the new <br />subdivision regulations which encourage this type of road. They like <br />the loop road...(interrupted by McDonald) <br />McDonald - We should deal with this because we have another public hearing. <br />Goetten - I don't need your help. I'll call for the motion. <br />Adams - ^to separate the motion. One to table the PRD and deny the <br />Rovegno - I'd happily separate the motion. <br />McDonald - Of course, 1*11 second. <br />Goetten - I'll call for the motion on the denial of the rezoning. <br />Motion, Ayes (4), Nays (1). <br />Goetten - Motion for tabling of the rest of the application. <br />Motion, Ayes (5), Nays (0). <br />McDonald - Do you want to give us a minority opinion? <br />Adams-One additional comment, that I have to add, is another factor that the P.C. <br />perhaps overlooks at times is the need for reasonable development in <br />Ore o. Other agencies in Orono, specifically the school districts, <br />that are specifically interested in reasonable, rational, well-planned <br />developments to increase the number of students that they have <br />available so that they can offer a comprehensive plan or comprehensive <br />course selection. And I cite that just as an example. I think that <br />quite often we are quite bicsed in keeping Orono at the lowest possible <br />density and I don't think thats alv^/ays in the best interest <br />of the Community. <br />McDonald - To answer that..i would say <br />Adams “ You don't have to answer that. <br />McDonald - I would say... <br />Goetten - That doesn't require an answer. <br />I
