Kilkenny iocun - 12 to 18 percent slope: <br />The map symbol for this soil is KkD and the map color is dark <br />red. This is a hilly soil occupying areas on hillsides and <br />knolls. The soil is well-drained and soil strength is adequate. <br />Sidehill seeps may occur during wet periods. The infiltration <br />rates for this soil are quite slow. <br />4. Lester loam: <br />This is a deep, well-drained, lo«uny soil that formed in calcareous <br />till. These soils occur on convex areas of irregular hills and <br />knolls. There are usually sfones and boulders near the surface. <br />The original vegetation was mixed hardwoods. Several slope phases <br />of this soil are mapped in the area of proposed development. Each <br />slope phase is discussed separately. <br />a). Lester loam - 2 to 6 percent slope: <br />The map symbol for this soil is LrB and the map color is medium <br />green. This is a gently undulating soil that occupies areas <br />on knolls and hilltops. This soil generally never becomes sat <br />urated. Soil strength is adequate. Tlie rolling slopes offer <br />attractive building sites. Hrosion is a hazard when the soil <br />is left exjKDsed during construction. The infiltration rates <br />for this soil are moderate to slow. <br />b). Lester loam - 6 to 12 percent slope: <br />The map symbol for this soil is I.rC and the map color is medium <br />green. This is a rolling soil that occupies areas on hillsides <br />and knolls. Tlie soil generally never becomes saturated. Soil <br />strength is adequate for constmetion. Lrosion is a hazard <br />when the soil is left ex|)oscd during constnjction. Soil infil <br />tration rates are moderate to slow. <br />c).
