4 %.CITY OF ONO <br />- A /*^ c . <br />"\-»'5^9«lar Meeting of the Orono Park Coimnission, <br />f-«ffptember 21, 1976 <br />1 <br />The Orono Park Conunission met on the above date <br />iflth the following members present; Chairman <br />Lathrop, Berglund, Hurr, and Peasley. Absent: <br />Kallestad, Leipold, and Oberhauser. <br />The Minutes from the last meeting were not <br />available. <br />The Park Commission supports the Bike/Hike <br />Trails Committee's suggestion that two signs <br />^ put up on the Burlington-Northern train <br />bridge at Willow Drive. The signs shall suggest <br />that bikes "Dismount and Walk Across the Bridge". <br />Long Lake should put up two on their side. <br />The Park Commission members present have visited <br />the proposed land to be donated to the Orono Park <br />Department by Bruce Dayton. Map attached. <br />Hurr moved, Berglund seconded, to thankfully <br />accept Mr. Dayton's gift to the City. Motion, <br />Ayes (4) - Nays (0). <br />The Park Commission suggests a public hearing <br />concerning the use of the property. Some items <br />to be considered at such a hearing would be as <br />follows: <br />■V- ; <br />t <br />- a <br />■ f <br />1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />Permit Only Parking <br />Study of future fencing of the site <br />Gate to parking area locked after 10:00 P.M. <br />No boat launching or landing <br />Proposed cleanup schedule and trash cans <br />Possible swimming instruction on the site <br />Beach screen, house removal <br />Question of retaining the present house <br />structure (currently occupied) for a care <br />taker at a reduced rent <br />/ • <br />.‘V A new attendance policy for members of the Park <br />CcMomission was discussed. <br />;> <br />/ -I* <br />Lathrop moved, Berglund seconded, that two <br />consecutive unexcused absences without advance <br />^notification to the Chairman involves an <br />automatic resignation by said member.
