S-P TES TING 1 NC. Steven B. Schirmers & Debra M. Schirmers
951 Katydid Lane NE • St. Michael, MN 5537C (612) 497-3566
FAX (612) 497-5011
State License #394
August 10, 1998
Bill Yaeger
Lot 64 & 65
Morse Island Park, Big Island
Orono, Henn. Co., MN
This On-Site Sewage Treatment System is Designed for a Type 111, two bedroom cabin
(180 gal/day), in accordance with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Chapter 7080
and local ordinances. Due to the limited space & no basement below the cabin, a 10'
setback is requested for the tanks from the structure.
The soils on this site are SCS soils mapped - HbC - Hayden loam. The seasonally
saturated soils were located at 60 tq 76 (mottled soil) . The bottom of the treatment
,
area must be located at least 3' above the seasonally saturated soils. A standard
gravelless trench system may be installed with a distribution box.
The soils at a depth of 24" & 30" have a percolation rate averaging 31.1 mpi.
A 500 gallon pumping chamber will need to be installed to lift the septic effluent to the
treatment area. The power supply and switches must be located outside the manhole
and pumping chamber in a weather proof enclosure. A waming device must be installed
with a light and sound device, this is in case of a pump failure.
The holding tanks will be 1-500 gallon & 1-1000 gallon. Insulate all the tanks to prevent
freezing. The tanks will be plastic so use spray polyurethane which will insulate and add
strength.
1
