CITY OF ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. 7098 <br />4kESHO <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE REALIGNMENT <br />OF COUNTY ROAD 15 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Orono is a municipal corporation organized and existing under <br />the laws of the State of Minnesota; and <br />WHEREAS,the County Road 15 is owned and operated by Hennepin County; and <br />WHEREAS, the section of County Road 15 near Tanager Lake will be realigned and the <br />property it is currently on will, in part,no longer be needed for the road; and <br />WHEREAS, by law, when the new road is open for travel,property on which the County <br />road existed, but is no longer needed for transportation purposes, becomes property of the City by <br />a function of law. Minn. Stat. § 162.02 subd. 7; Minn. Stat. § 160.09 sub.1; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council, after reviewing the County's plans for realignment, finds <br />that there is no public use or benefit for this parcel of land; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Orono, <br />Minnesota as follows: <br />At such time when the project is completed and the County relinquishes unused portions <br />of County Road 15 to the City, the City will vacate the land pursuant Minn.
